Hmm...Where to begin.

Well, first off, I gotta say: I've been involved in collaborative projects before, but not like this one. It's very refreshing to be able to talk directly to the other group/person you need to work on a specific area of the project. Regardless of who it is or where they are in the world, you can normally reach them in a short amount of time, discuss the matter, and work on it. Often even in real time.

The latest example of this was just the other day, I was talking to Immortius about sample volumes. He asked me if it would be useful to have some console commands that I could use, in-game, to test/set levels. Within a day, I had a few new console commands to play around with and they are really helping allot. I spent the past few hours playing various samples and testing different levels, then comparing them to other samples, taking notes all the while.

I've seen quite a few interesting changes to NB since I first joined and there is still discussion about more, but I'll leave that for the respective parties envolved to tell you about...

For my part, I've been busy running around in the NB world, just trying new things out and playing with ideas for what various aspects would sound like. The result of that is I recently added a few sounds and started working on some new ones as well.

I've also managed to gather what I think is a very good group of voice actors. Some with previous professional experience and a few amateurs, some in remote locations and some local. One that particularly blew me away will be doing one of the female thieves...Wow! She has no experience, but is quick to learn and has a knock-out voice!

There's still plenty to be done, but by release, I think you will all enjoy BCG's latest mod. I'm certainly enjoying working on it.

First entry...ugh...

Ambient Silence :: August 06, 2004

Figures I'd get a journal at EXACTLY the same time my work schedule has exploded...
In the real world, I've got two network contracts and a live recording gig this week...and no sleep...Not to mention the fact I'm house-sitting...Internet access has been difficult...
But enough about my life...Here's the more important stuff:
The voice actors are starting to work on their characters, the studio is back in order, and we should have our first recording session by the end of the week!
In addition, I should have some missile impact and armor sounds for Afterwish to play around with (he'll be doing post production and making all the sounds that make you jump, cringe, and drool!).
More later...Back to the mundane for me...
