Nightblade Alpha: Installation

First, ensure that you have installed the latest UT3 patch. At the time of writing the latest patch is 1.2. Failure to have this patch will cause various issues - the most important being that the game will crash when selecting a team without at least patch 1.1.

For Windows Vista users:
To install ThieveryUT3: Nightblade, extract the zip file to your \Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\ directory. Make sure the file path structure is extracted.

For Windows XP users:
To install ThieveryUT3: Nightblade, extract the zip file to your \My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\ directory. Make sure the file path structure is extracted.

Important Note

The first time you play a Nightblade Map (and probably the first time you play each map) there will be a long load time. This can take 5 minutes or more depending on your computer. This is so that UT3 can generate and cache shader information for each of the textures. Future map load times should be much faster.

We also have made available a pre-generated Shader Cache that can be used to avoid the long load time, but it should be noted that this overrides any existing Shader Cache you have, meaning that any other custom content you use will have to regenerate its shader cache again.
